As an in home health nurse, my own mother has become my most challenging case to date due to a severe stroke in September 2017. Although she is still mentally herself, the severe physical disability that she was left with has caused her to be trapped inside of her own body. I can't imagine the nightmare for her. She struggles day by day to slowly get better. I am very blessed to be able to care for her now full time in home. I received a wonderful New Years gift this morning as she was able to be fully weaned off of oxygen support. I am struck with what an incredibly strong woman she really is. As we go into 2018 and she slowly makes the climb up hill, I can only hope that 2018 is a much better year!!!
